08 Oct Machine Frames Made of Wood
Our colleague Mr Roland Stawinoga (mechanical engineer) has published an interesting article concerning “Machine frames made of wood” at Cambridge University.
He gives interesting arguments how to use components made by wood in an efficient way, focussing in the motor raft. The idea comes originally from Mr Fredrick Von Maltzahn, our CEO at CTV lifts, born into a family with vast experience in the wood manufacturing sector, in the north of Germany (Mecklenburg). CTV has designed, manufactured and fabricated both prototypes of the existing rafts.
The rest of the article is based on explaining how convenient is the use of wood for manufacturing lift components, being able to have more environmentally friendly products with better acoustic isolation levels, minimizing their environmental impact and cost reduction.
